Josh Levine is a playwriting graduate of The Theatre School, DePaul University in Chicago. After his freshman year of college, Josh's play STARRY NIGHT was produced in the 7th Annual Blank Theatre Company's Young Playwright's Festival, where he was mentored by Terrence McNally. STARRY NIGHT was then subsequently produced at Second Stage Theatre in Los Angeles. During his time in Chicago, Josh had the pleasure of working at Victory Gardens, Chicago Dramatists, AboutFace Theater Company, Goodman Theater, and Bailiwick Rep., where his play, A MERRY JEWISH CHRISTMAS, was a "hit" during the fall of 2003 & 2004 season. Before moving to New York, Josh also served as Mr. McNally's assistant on the world premiere Kander & Ebb musical, THE VISIT, which premiered at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago. Since moving to New York, Josh has worked at Primary Stages, The Actors Fund, and is currently the Director of Membership at The Dramatists Guild of America. Josh most recently was a visiting artist at the Kennedy Center Playwriting Intensive during the summer of 2006 & 2007.
Originally from Orlando, Florida, Josh now lives in Astoria (Queens, NY) with his partner, Ryan Dietz.
