On the same day that Tari buries her mother, the Ranger shows up to deliver a telegram from the Lost Persons Area: The wind carries her. Her mother is lost. How long they’ve been apart. Tari's real mother is awaiting her arrival. But will she meet this woman who claims to have given birth to her? And what is she supposed to do with this shovel now that her mother is in the ground?
